William V. Dean Jr., 67, of Walton, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022 at Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton.
Bill was born Sept. 6, 1954 in Walton, the son of the late William V. and Shirley (Hafele) Dean Sr. On Aug. 6, 1988, he married the former Stacy Akins at the fire hall in Trout Creek, by Pastor Bill Paul.
Bill worked at Borden Chemical for many years in Bainbridge. He was a former member of the Trout Creek Fire Department and EMS where he was squad captain and Walton Fire Department and EMS. While in Walton he was a mentor for the Walton Fire Dept Explorers.
Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing, mowing his lawn, riding motorcycles, playing games with his nieces and nephews, and cooking for his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his loving family, his wife Stacy, brothers James (Joanne) Dean, Preston; Ronnie (Lisa) Dean of Walton; sisters Beverly (Richard) Wright Sr., Walton; Cindy (John) Cobane, Sidney; brother-in-law, mother-and father-in-law Lillie and William Akins and John Akins, special friends John and Laura Green, Claudia Smith, Sandy and Bill Paul, Shirley and Kevin Green, Jamie and Carla Green, Cheryl Green; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his fire department family.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Friends and relatives are invited to call Friday, Sept. 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, where services will be held at 1 with Pastor Bill Paul, officiating.
