William Sulger

William R. Sulger, 69, of Walton, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, at home. 

Will was born March 16, 1953, in Walton, the son of the late William L. and Anna (Wood) Sulger. He was a graduate of Walton Central School, class of 1971. Following high school he attended SUNY Delhi majoring in welding. On June 27, 1981, he married the former Karina Martin in Walton. Will was a 49-year employee of York Modern Corp. as production manager.

Will was a member of the Walton Pistol Club, and mentor for the junior pistol club and New York state certified firearm trainer. He was also a member of the NRA and was an avid gun collector and reloader, and member of New York State Tractor Pulling Association. Will was an avid hunter as he loved being in the outdoors. He also enjoyed working on cars.

Will is survived by his loving family, wife Karina Sulger, son Casey Sulger of Franklin, daughter Brooke Sulger of Florida, grandchildren Dominic and Marissa; mother-in-law Stella Martin, aunt Stacia (Ron) Wood; brother Bruce (Jane) Sulger of Greene, close cousin Ron Wood, special friends Bob Wilkie, Bob and Wanda  VanBuren, Dennis Bennett, Brian MacRabie, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Dan and Mark Sulger. 

Friends and family are invited to call Monday, Dec. 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, where services will be held at 3 with Pastor Bob Wilkie officiating.
