Ronald M. Backus, 73, of Sidney Center, passed away Dec. 4, 2022 in Chestnut Parking Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Oneonta.
Ron was born March 2, 1949 in Walton, son of the late Thomas and Beatrice (Crosby) Backus.
He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971. Ron was a self-employed dairy farmer, operating his own farm in Sidney Center.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Robert Buchanan, as well as several nieces, nephews and close friends Mark and Harry.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters and a brother.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
