Residents of Hamden should be more informed regarding the harmful “fire and chemical hazard” of the proposed 125-magawat battery energy storage facility planned on Cobbe Cross Road, Hamden, New York. Can you imagine your quiet, farm and family hamlet having 16-20 foot acoustic barrier walls? What about “Hazard Analysis? ...”localized plume modeling” to evaluate “potential” off-gas dispersion patterns in “hypothetical fire events.”
Be worried, be very worried. There should be a vote by everyone! ... “officials confirmed that under town law, the application will be decided by the Planning Board and will not be subject to Public Referendum.” The law calls for a 1,000 foot setback from property lines...so they are asking for the planning Board to use a 100-foot setback.
The has to be reviewed and denied! I feel it is our right to vote on this proposal!
