WALTON — A year after opening its doors, the walk-in clinic at UHS Delaware Valley Hospital has emerged as a vital resource in rural Delaware County, providing urgent care to more than 6,200 patients since March 2024.
The clinic, the only walk-in of its kind in the county, was established to meet local demand for accessible, same-day medical care — without the need for long drives or extended waits. Operating from the hospital’s Walton campus, it has quickly garnered praise for both its efficiency and its patient-centered approach.
In recognition of its performance, the DVH Walk-In received a 2025 “800 Award” from Reputation.com, a digital platform that measures consumer sentiment and online engagement in healthcare and other industries.
Online reviews reflect the clinic’s standing in the community. “Clean, efficient, friendly, courteous service,” one patient wrote. “They have figured it out: First and foremost make those you serve feel seen and heard.”
Another praised the relief of local access: “The waiting times are short, the staff is always courteous and respectful and it’s such a relief not traveling hours back and forth.”
The clinic’s success, hospital leaders say, underscores the importance of localized, walk-in care in rural settings—where transportation and time can often be barriers to treatment. The staff now looks to build on its momentum, continuing what it calls a mission of “convenient and compassionate care” into its second year.
