Thank you Delaware County

On behalf of the Friends of the Bramley Mountain Fire Tower, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Delaware County Board of Supervisors Chair Tina Molé, the entire board of supervisors, and Glenn Nealis, the county director of economic development, for their significant efforts and support to get the fire tower project back on track. We are very excited to establish this formal partnership and to reconstruct the Bramley Mountain Fire Tower in spring/summer 2024.

We truly appreciate the board’s vote of confidence and belief in not only the importance of the tower to our region but in our organization’s ability to complete this most important project. The Friends of Bramley Mountain Fire Tower will not disappoint!

In the coming months, working with the county, we will finalize the construction time frame, work with the county to finalize all needed permits, prepare the site with the NYS Department of Environmental Protection and complete the fundraising needed to get this construction project over the finish line. While we have raised approximately 80% of the reconstruction costs, we are confident we will quickly raise the balance needed. We will also be recruiting and training volunteers to serve as trail and fire tower stewards.

Together we will restore the historic Bramley Mountain Fire Tower to her original glory which will benefit our region immensely in terms of tourism, health, and education. As she did for twenty years, the Bramley Mountain Fire Tower will serve as a testament to the resourcefulness of our citizens and the beauty of our region - proudly standing watch over the landscape we all hold dear.
