Raymond G. Finkle

Raymond G. Finkle of Roscoe, a retired employee of the City of New York Board of Water Supply in Downsville and a lifelong area resident, died Friday, March 26, 2021 at his home. He was 88.

The son of the late Kenneth and Nora A. Francisco Finkle, he was born July 29, 1932 in Delhi.

Ray served Our Country in the United States Navy during the Korean War on the Coral Sea. He was a member of the James S. Moore American Legion Post #167 in Downsville, and had been a member of the Harold Wood VFW Post in Roscoe. He was a member of the Tremperskill Hunting and Fishing Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and cooking barbecued chicken.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Catherine V. Bush Finkle, at home; one son, George Finkle and his wife Elaine of Roscoe; a sister-in-law, Alice Finkle of Cutchogue, and several nieces and nephews.  

He was predeceased by a sister, Doris Martin and a brother, Dorville Finkle.

Graveside services and burial will be Wednesday, April 7, at 11 a.m. in the Shavertown Cemetery, Andes. The Rev. Bert More will officiate.
