Phyllis J. Reynolds, 78, of Trout Creek passed away peacefully on Monday, May 31, 2021 at her home.

Born July 27, 1942 in Trout Creek, she was a daughter of the late Perry and Hazel Cummongs Shelton.

Phyllis was a hard worker, making sure to always provide for her family even if that meant she went without. She started working as a seamstress in a dress factory, dedicated almost 30 years to The Reporter Company as a type setter and retired from Mead Westvaco in Sidney in 2007. Phyllis was a very talented seamstress; she enjoyed quilt making, sewing, crocheting and knitting. Over the years, she made everyone in the family a quilt and before she finished you could find her getting ready for the next one whether for a family member, to donate or just anyone who wanted one of her beautiful works of art. Phyllis enjoyed attending the Trout Creek Community church on Sundays which included spending coffee hour catching up on the latest news with her church friends. When Phyllis was not hard at work, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, anything raspberry, sweets of all kinds and her nightly dish of ice cream. Most of all she loved to spoil and take care of her 12 grandchildren who she lived and breathed for. Phyllis will be sadly missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.

Survivors include her beloved husband of almost 60 years Joe Reynolds; children Alicia Collins (Mike), Robbie Reynolds (Carol), Jolie Demeo (John) and Lynne VanValkenburg (Steve); Sister Barbara Finnerty; special friend and cousin Kathy Layton; grandchildren Jordon, Kendall, R.J., Logan, Danielle, Jessica, Brennan, Abby, Julia, Alexis, Layne and Addyson and four great grandchildren and two great grandchildren on the way.

Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton. Burial at Walton Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.
