Phyllis Garcia

Phyllis Garcia, 78, of Chittenango, passed away on Friday evening, Sept. 11, 2020, in Oneida Health. 

Born in Brooklyn on June 18, 1942, she was the daughter of Joseph and Marie Perrotta Morelli. A resident of Chittenango for the past five years, moving from Delhi. Phyllis was educated in Brooklyn. She married Hiram Garcia in Maryland on July 10, 1961. Mr. Garcia died on Feb. 28, 2010. 

Phyllis enjoyed playing bingo and gambling the slot machines and loved to knit, shop and bake with her grandchildren. She was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are four daughters, Graceann Signorino of Ohio, Maria (Steven) Behr of Colorado, Lori (Barry) Hofsdal of Chittenango and Tina Garcia of Walton; one son, Joseph (Donna) Garcia Sr. of Delhi; seven grandchildren, Trista Garcia, Ashley VanBuren, Joseph Garcia Jr., Nathan Wood, Justin Rico, Barbara Rico, Hannah Hofsdal and Joseph Signorino; six great-grandchildren and one on the way - Xavier, Phoenix, Peyton, Bryn, Callie and Mykah; one sister, Grace Cottone of Brooklyn and one brother, Joseph Morelli of Georgia. 

She was predeceased by two sisters, Marie Ambrosino and Barbara Gencarelli.

In keeping with Phyllis’ wishes, there will be no services. Consider contributions to the Delhi American Legion, 41 Page Avenue, Delhi, NY 13753.
