Miriam VanTassel, 46, of Walton, passed away suddenly at her home on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021 surrounded by her loving family, following a brief illness.

Born April 1, 1974 in Queens, she was a daughter of Robert and the late Veronica Millwater.

Miriam worked as a CNA and home health aide for many years. She had a true passion for helping and caring for others her whole life. She developed a strong friendship with one of her patients, Angela Walley, whom she cared for very deeply. When Miriam was not hard at work she enjoyed being at the beach enjoying a cold Budweiser or Busch but most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and many friends. She will be sadly missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.

Survivors include her beloved husband Donald “Boomer” VanTassel of Walton, Boomer and Miriam were married 17 years and together 27 years; children Michael Vogel of Walton, Brandin VanTassel (Jessica) of Walton, Krystal VanTassel (Anthony) of Walton and Erika VanTassel of Walton; brothers Troy Millwater, Robert Millwater and Edmund Millwater; sisters Barbara, Joan, Patty, and Karen; best friend Jessica; grandchildren Braylon, Saijah, Kiara and a fourth on the way; sisters-in-law Amy Doenges, Tracy Costello and Michelle Tate. Miriam is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.

She is predeceased by her mother Veronica Millwater and her brother-in-law Butch Newcomb.

A service to celebrate Miriam’s life will be held at a day and time to be announced by the family.
