Marlena Ann Carman, 14, of Walton, passed away suddenly on Monday, Nov. 23, 2020 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born April 10, 2006 in Fort Smith, Ark., she was the daughter of Rodney and Peggy Fairchild Carman.

Marlena was currently a ninth grader attending Walton Central School. She loved to play volleyball and always looked forward to spending time with her very close friends and family. Marlena has a great compassion for others and was a wonderful young lady who will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.

Survivors include her parents Peggy and Rodney Carman and Angle Wilbur and Michael Dority; brothers Shaun Carman, Devon Dority, Dallas Carman, Jaden Carman and Brandon Carman; sisters Kona Carman, Brittney Sherburne (Bradley), Hannah Carman, Elizabeth Carman, Rachel Carman and Aliya Carman. Marlena is also survived by her grandparents, one niece and several nephews.

A time to gather and remember Marlena will take place on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 11-12 p.m. at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton. Social distancing guidelines must be met, and face masks are required. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
