Linda M. Hoffman, 75, of Walton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, Jan. 11, at Delaware Valley Hospital.

Linda was born Jan. 27, 1948 in Cold Spring, to Armando and Emma Felicetti, the youngest of four siblings - John (Peggy) Rocher, Dorthy (Louie) Boniello, and Armando (Jenine) Felicetti Jr. She graduated from Mahopac High School in 1966, after which she moved to North Palm Beach, Fla. where she enjoyed the sunshine and worked at a community bank.

Linda moved to Walton in 1980 and worked at First Federal Savings & Loan. She met her devoted husband Jon in 1981 and they married on Jan. 23, 1982. They welcomed their first son Jon Michael into the world in November of 1982, and their youngest son, David, in June of 1984. In 1985 she left the bank to be a stay at home mom to her two sons. After the boys started school, Linda became a playground aide and later a teacher’s aide at Townsend Elementary School in Walton, where she worked for the next 24 years. The family could hardly go anyplace in Walton without someone saying hello to Mrs. Hoffman.

Linda was a devout Christian; she spent her mornings reading the Bible and doing her daily devotional, and praying for the needs of those around her. She and Jon were committed members of the First Baptist Church of Walton for over 30 years. Over that time she served as a Deacon, a list maker of prayer requests, member of women’s fellowship, and helping anywhere there was a need.

Linda could be found at the Walton Pool in the summertime where she enjoyed the warmth of the sun in the company of many friends, her sons and in later years her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends, gardening, and directing her husband Jon in “honey do” projects. She also loved walks around town with her husband and friends at a pace that was quite brisk, to say the least, all while chatting and enjoying the company of those with her.

Linda was a lifelong friend to so many- her door was always open and often friends could be found enjoying coffee and conversation in the living room or around her dining table. She never missed sending a kind word for the important events in the lives of her family and friends. She was a devoted wife to Jon and they did most everything together as a team, even if her husband didn’t want to. They simply loved each other’s company and this year would have marked their 42nd wedding anniversary. For Linda, her children and grandchildren were some of her greatest joys - she never missed an opportunity to tell them how much she loved them, or how proud she was of each one of them.

Linda is predeceased by her parents Armando and Emma Felicetti, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Jane Hoffman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Peggy Rocher, brother Armando Felicetti Jr., and brother-in-law Louie Boniello.

She is survived by her husband Jon, sons Jon Michael (Nicole) Hoffman, David (Emma) Hoffman, grandchildren Alyssa, Natalie, Madison, Mason and Logan, as well as sister Dorthy Boniello, brother-in-law Jan (Gerri) Hoffman, sister-in-law Linda (Charles) Gietz, sister-in-law Jenine Felicetti, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family of Linda Hoffman would like to thank the staff at Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton for the wonderful care and compassion they provided in her final days.

There will be a celebration of Linda’s life at the First Baptist Church in Walton Saturday, Jan. 20, starting with a visitation at 10 a.m. and celebration at 11 a.m.

In lieu of donations the family asks that you embrace Linda’s spirit of compassion for others and consider donating your time to a community cause close to your heart.
