Joyce M. Taylor, 79, of Walton passed away on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023 at her home in Walton.
Joyce was born July 28, 1944 in Walton, the daughter of the late Daniel and Violet (Keesler) French. She was a lifelong resident of Walton and found comfort within her hometown. Joyce was a legal secretary for the Walton Reporter for over 30 years before retiring. She was an active member of the Riverside Alliance Church and loved her time assisting wherever she could.
For years she enjoyed going for daily walks around town with her sister. She was a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren, and those she took in along the way! She enjoyed spending time on her back porch looking at her flowers and listening to her windchime collection with her family. In her retirement years was often found sitting at the kitchen table doing crosswords and reading or writing in her journal. She also loved her great-grandkids (fur babies) and having them visit and stay with her to keep her company.
Joyce is survived by her loving family, her son, Darren Taylor (partner Dawn); brothers Donald French (wife Joyce) and Steven French; sisters Ruth Ann Houck and Cheryl Myers; grandchildren Joshua Taylor (partner Ryan), Paige Moody, Ryli, Destiny, Bentley and many nieces, nephews, special friends and neighbors who had become family to her.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Dec. 2 at Riverside Alliance Church, 110 Stockton Avenue, Walton.
The family is being cared for by the Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
