Jon Armstrong passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023.
Jon was born Jan. 6, 1952 in Walton, to the late Laurence and Arletta (Storrer) Armstrong. He was one of seven children.
Jon graduated from Walton Central High School in 1970. He married Marilyn (Fletcher) November 30, 1974. He worked with Earl Sines on the Sines family farm and later became partner, then owner of the Delaware Sport Center until his recent retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, golfing, the Dallas Cowboys, playing pinochle with his girls, and snowmobiling.
Jon is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn, his daughter, Mrs. Jami Aubin (Al), his son, Dr. Heith Armstrong (Susan), four grandchildren, Noah Jon and Logan Aubin, Maura and Jude Armstrong.
He is also survived by his loving mother, Arletta and his siblings, Mickey (Pam), Vickie Winkler (Frank), Reva Jones (Steve), Tracy (Eileen), Laurie Armstrong, Barry (Linda) and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, Oct. 14, at the New Hope Church on Stockton Avenue in Walton. The family is in the care of Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
In Lieu of flowers make donations in Jon’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
