Jerome Roach Jr.

Jerome (“Jerry”) Joseph Roach, Jr., 87, of Wellington, Fla., passed away Jan. 15, 2024.

Jerry was born to Jerome and Anita Roach on March 28, 1936, in Walton.

He was a talented athlete who loved playing sports. He led the Walton Warriors football team to an undefeated and unscored upon season in the 1950s, and was an avid golfer, playing well into his 80s.

Jerry attended Ithaca College (1955-1959), majoring in accounting. After graduating, he built a successful financial tax and accounting business servicing Walton and the surrounding areas. Jerry established the Walton chapter of the Lions Club in 1964, and was a charter member of the Sidney Chapter of the Elks Club.

Jerry moved to Florida during the mid-1970s continuing to provide financial tax and accounting services and spending time serving as a fourth degree Knights of Columbus, playing golf, and enjoying the fellowship with the Holy Smokes.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Vanessa (“Zoe”) Roach, children Michael Roach, Christopher (Dawn) Roach, Carol (Tony) Antonelli, Hether Benjamin (Jeffrey) Brown, and Aaron Benjamin; grandchildren Amanda Roach, Nickolas Roach, Anthony Antonelli, Allison Roach, Jennifer Roach, Michael Antonelli, Samantha Roach, Aelish Benjamin Brown, Kendall Benjamin; and brother Thomas Roach.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Jerome and Anita Roach, and his brother Richard Roach.
