A free rabies vaccination clinic for dogs, cats, and ferrets will be held Wednesday, March 19, from 5 - 6:30 p.m. at the Colchester Highway Department, 6292 River Road, Downsville.
Pet owners are encouraged to preregister. Under New York State law, all dogs and cats must be vaccinated against rabies. Puppies and kittens can receive their first rabies vaccine at three months of age. Owners should bring prior vaccination records to determine eligibility for a three-year booster.
To ensure safety, all dogs must be leashed, and cats and ferrets must be in carriers. Participants are reminded to clean up after their pets, as local organizations have volunteered their facilities for this event.
A veterinarian will be available only during the scheduled clinic hours. To preregister or for questions, contact Delaware County Public Health at 607-832-5200.
