Delhi Rotary Summer Reading Challenge kicks off its 4th year

Posted

Registration for the Delhi NY Rotary Club’s Summer Reading Challenge will began on June 1. Parents or guardians can register any child living in the county between ages 4-17. Each child receives a free-brand new book upon registering, then decides how many books they will read over the summer. Everyone who completes the challenge will receive a coupon for a free small ice cream cone.

The Delhi Rotary Club began the program in 2020, during the pandemic lockdown, as a way to keep kids reading and spread some cheer during the summer. Rotary members delivered books to participants’ doorsteps all over the county, and they continue to do that today. The program was such a success that the club decided to continue it, and the program grew to more than 100 participants last year.

To sign up, families can email rotary.delhi.ny@gmail.com and ask for a link to the online sign-up form.
