Community Foundation announces available funding for hygiene products

The Community Foundation for South Central New York announced the launch of the Community Hygiene Products Fund, a new initiative dedicated to improving access to essential hygiene products for residents in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego, and Tioga counties.

The Community Hygiene Products Fund will address a critical need in the region, as many residents struggle to afford basic hygiene products like soap, shampoo, deodorant, and menstrual supplies. This lack of access can have significant consequences for individuals and families, impacting their health, wellbeing, and ability to participate fully in society.

People may not be aware that food stamp recipients cannot use them to purchase personal hygiene products. The Community Hygiene Products Fund will provide critical resources to organizations working on the front lines to address this challenge.

The Community Hygiene Products Fund will support local non-profit organizations that provide hygiene products to low-income residents. Funds will be awarded through a flexible and intuitive grant process, and organizations are encouraged to apply.

Organizations will be able to apply for grants from this fund at www.donorswhocare.org once the funding campaign is completed and the funds are transferred.

Individuals and businesses are invited to join us in supporting this important initiative. Donations to the Community Hygiene Fund can be made online at givebutter.com/CHPF by texting DIGNITY2ALL to 53-555 or by mailing a check to the Community Foundation for South Central New York, 520 Columbia Drive, Suite 100, Johnson City, NY 13790.
