DVH: Meeting the needs of the community

Walton walk-in clinic celebrates opening with ribbon cutting

WALTON - Since its March opening UHS-Delaware Valley Hospital’s walk-in clinic has seen approximately 600 patients and celebrated its opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony April 23.

Walton Mayor Ed Snow, on the board of directors for the hospital for the past 23 years, said the clinic is one-of-a-kind in Delaware County. The walk-in clinic is just one of the many steps the hospital is taking to meet the needs of Delaware County residents, Snow said, and previews future expansion plans.

An appointment is not required to be seen at the walk-in clinic, accessed through the main entrance of the hospital at 1 Titus Place in Walton, Snow said. There are short waiting times, he continued, and hours are available outside of primary care services. It’s also convenient, Snow continued, as a one-stop location for x-rays, lab work, pharmacy needs, and more. Everything is located in one place, he said.

“We are trying to make the hospital as accessible as possible,” Snow said of the expansion. “This is good for the entire county, not just Walton.”

The clinic is a crucial addition to the community’s healthcare infrastructure, Walton Supervisor Joe Cetta said.

DVH President and CEO Rolland ‘Boomer’ Bojo said the walk-in clinic was created in response to the community’s request for convenient care.

“People won’t have to take the better part of a day off to be seen for something,” Bojo said. People can be seen at the clinic before work or school, during a lunch hour or after work. The walk-in clinicians can see a patient for any condition that a primary doctor can, Bojo said.

“We are here to serve the community to provide a service in a quality manner,” Bojo said. The clinic is another one of those services, he said.

The clinic is located on the hospital campus at 1 Titus Place, Walton, and is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
