SSgt. (Ret.) Carl M. Harlow, Sr., 85, of Walton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021 at Robinson Terrace Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Stamford, following a long illness.

Born Feb. 11, 1936 in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, he was the son of the late Manson Harlow and Maxine Turtur.

Carl proudly served our great country in the Air Force for over 20 years retiring as a Staff Sergeant (SSgt). Following his retirement from the Air Force, Carl went on to drive truck for many years for various local companies. Carl was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed deer and turkey hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed getting out and riding his motorcycle. Carl attended and was a longtime member of Northfield Community Church in Walton.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 37 years Kathy Harlow; children Linda Armstrong (Tim), Carl Harlow Jr. (Debbie), Barbara McCarthy (Robert), Ann Daly (Tom) and Kathy Eichhorn (Jeff); longtime friend and caretaker Jenn Garcia and his beloved dog Snoopy. Carl is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Besides his parents, Carl is predeceased by his son Henry Morris Harlow.

Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 12-2 p.m. at Northfield Community Church, 5116 County Highway 23, Walton. A service to celebrate Carl’s life will follow at the church at 2 p.m. with Pastor Randy Palada officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held in the spring at Walton Cemetery at a day and time to be announced.
