Barbara J. Scofield, 49, of Walton, passed from this life on Easter Sunday evening, April 1, 2018, at home surrounded by her family, following a long illness.

Barbara was born June 18, 1968 in Jackson, Miss., the daughter of the late William and Daisy (Starkweather) Wagner and the late Robert J. Beardslee Sr. She is survived by close family member, Roberta “Bobbi” Dunker. On July 25, 2009, she married Richard C. Scofield Jr. in Walton.

Barbara was employed as a Home Health Aide for HCR in Delhi. She was a very caring and compassionate lady, always trying to help others.

Barb was a member of the New Hope Community Church. She enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband, Rick, working in her strawberry garden, and watching the derby. Barb was always very competitive, and played to win in every game, whether it was game night, playing cards or other games with her family and friends.

Barb is survived by her loving family, her husband, Rick, her children, Misty Phoenix and Steve of Walton; Gary (Nicole) Scofield of Walton, Cody (Pam) Scofield of Walton, Kyle (Alexandrea) Hoffman, of Palm Springs, Calif., and Brandon (Chrissy) Scofield of Walton; grandchildren Kiara, Deacon, Clayton, Cameron, Ashton, Ayden, Carson, Maddisen, Makenna, Leland, Olivia Ruth; sisters and brothers, Laura and Brad Northrup of Walton; Dawn and Matt Auwae of Clay; Robert J. Beardslee Jr. of Sidney Center; Richard and Chairity Beardslee of Sidney; also, special friends Darlene Bailey, Kelly Watts Gaedeke, Peggy Carmen, Jackie Van Loan, Selinda Boice, Porky Cetta, Joe Maggiore, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Carl Beardslee.

Family and friends were invited to call on Thursday, April 5, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Avenue, Walton where services will be held at 11 with Pastor Larry Light, officiating. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
