Wilburna A. Budine, 96, of Walton, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 18, 2025. She was at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 25, 1928, in Walton, Wilburna was the daughter of the late Cecil and Dorothy (Darling) Peterson. On May 4, 1946, Wilburna married Everett Budine at the First United Methodist Church in Walton, beginning a loving marriage that lasted for 60 years.
A lifelong resident of Walton, Wilburna worked for 30 years at Amphenol Corporation (Bendix) in Sidney as a supervisor. She later worked at Stockton Avenue Market, where she especially enjoyed interacting with the community. Wilburna was always known for her infectious smile and her joyful, caring nature. She was the heart and soul of her family, always offering guidance, love, and wisdom. Wilburna’s vibrant presence will be cherished by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as her legacy of love and joy continues to inspire those who knew her.
As a member of the First United Methodist Church in Walton, her faith and church family were integral to her life. Wilburna’s devotion to the Lord and her strong sense of community were central to who she was. Wilburna found joy in playing pinochle with friends and family, cooking and baking delicious meals and pies, telling her jokes and camping with loved ones. She found great companionship in her dog, Katie, and looked forward to her daily visits to TA’s with her dear friend, Frannie Rice, who predeceased her. Wilburna was a proud and devoted supporter of her grandson’s sports and activities, attending every game she could. However, her greatest pride and joy was her great-granddaughter Kenzlee Marie Jackson.
Wilburna is survived by her brother Nelson Peterson (Marjorie) of Unadilla, her son Randy L. Budine (Debra) of Oneonta, and her daughter Judy Lindsay (Phil) of Walton; two grandchildren, Chad E. Jackson (Tasha) and Michael R. Lindsay (Taylor); four great-grandchildren: Kenzlee, Jayden, Gjianna, and Anthoni; sister-in-law Ramona Peterson, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at the First United Methodist Church, 101 North Street, Walton, followed by a funeral service at 2 officiated by Reverend Christine Lindeberg.
