Wet plate photography is one of the earliest forms of photography and involves coating a tin or glass plate with a light sensitive chemical, putting the plate into a camera and then exposing it for 15 to 20 minutes. It comes from a time when photography was an art that balanced composition, technical skill and the knowledge of chemical processes. Burnahm is a lifelong photography enthusiast who has studied the art of wet plate collodion photography with experts John Coffer at “Camp Tintype” and Lisa Elmaleh at the Penumbra Foundation in New York City. Crafting numerous plates in his Roxbury studio, his work combines historical techniques with a personal artistic vision.

Space is limited to five participants. Registration at www.roxburyartsgroup.org.
