Temperatures pleasant for this time of year

Posted

“Believe it or not, we need rain. It’s something I try not to say, because usually something horrible happens. Except normal for October is 4.6 inches, and we only have 1.8 inches. So, we’re a little short - 3 inches behind where we’re supposed to be. In fact, its been a very dry month. However, after that week of cold, about a week or so ago, we’ve had some really nice temperatures. Understand that now, for this time of the year, normal for us is 52 degrees. What we’ve had over the past week is the following: 60, 69, 66, 59 and 67. That’s way above where we are supposed to be. On Wednesday, Oct. 26 a cold front moved through. The winds picked up and the temperature dropped. But at 4 o’clock on the morning, it felt like a summer morning. It was 61 degrees. On Wednesday, we started at a temperature that’s way above normal.

It wasn’t that way in the afternoon, evening or this morning, Thursday, Oct. 27. We ended up with storms coming through with some rain. I’ll take it.

The wind finished dropping nearly all the leaves. It was raining leaves earlier this week, Then we are going to get temperatures in the low to mid 50s and nighttime temperatures in the 30s, and people are going to say “Oh, it’s cold!” No. It’s normal. That’s where we are supposed to be. So it looks like the weekend is going to be beautiful, up and coming. However, it looks like we might end up getting rain for Halloween, which isn’t so good for the kids. It looks like Monday and Tuesday, there are showers and rain for those two days.

But right now with the temperatures where they are, if you haven;t finished winterizing things, do so. If its dry around your windows and it needs some caulking, go ahead and put it in. Get things ready because sooner or later the cold is going to get here. However, right now, if you’re looking into the future, they are saying the first two weeks of November, it is supposed to be above average. Please remember, above average in November means we might get to upper 40s or lower 50s. Things are going down. They do every year.

Go out and enjoy these temperatures while we have them. I think everyone will be raking leaves - I’ve noticed piles in front of people’s yards already - because they’re going to come down, like it or not. Have a real good day, and a real good week, and I’ll talk to you again next week.” ~ Frank
