Still humid and wet

Posted

Friday, Aug. 25, there were on-and-off showers in the morning. We got another 11/100ths of an inch of rain and it wasn’t hot. We only got to 72 degrees. But the humidity was awful. It felt a whole lot warmer than that. Overnight, it only dropped to 63 and it was 90% humidity. However, it was sunny, and 78 degrees, so we can’t really complain about Saturday.

Sunday, Aug. 27, it was really nice. It was 55 degrees, only a high of 73 degrees and then there was Monday, Aug. 28. There was more rain. It started at 52 degrees and it only went to 68; and we had another 20/100ths of an inch of rain.

Tuesday, Aug. 29, it was mostly cloudy or totally cloudy all day long and a very humid 75 degrees.

The heavy rain got here on Wednesday morning. That was a cold front. Not counting that, we already had 5.59 inches of rain for the month - another extremely wet month.

However, what’s up and coming is going to be beautiful. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and into next week put sunshine in the forecast. Thursday and Friday it’s going to feel like fall. We’ll be lucky to reach 70. But then we put summer back on - I mean real summer. The kind of stuff we are supposed to get in July. You can start putting mid- to upper 80s - maybe even a little but higher than that for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Just in time to start school, it’s going to be hot. I don’t think that’s going to last for too long, but the nice thing is all those days are going to be sunny.

So, we’ve been waiting for a stretch of good weather. I think its coming. Let’s keep our fingers crossed, because, boy, do we need it.” ~ Frank Ward
