Amid the excitement of the Delaware County Fair, visitors, exhibitors and fair workers are invited to take a quiet moment for reflection during the annual Vespers service.
Sponsored by the Walton Ministerial Association, the Sunday evening service provides an opportunity for anyone at the fairgrounds - including those caring for animals, preparing exhibits or simply enjoying the fair - to gather for an evening service.
This year’s Vespers service will be held Sunday, Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. in the Entertainment Tent.
Those interested in joining the choir are invited to attend rehearsal at 5 p.m. before the service.
The word “vespers” comes from the Latin word for evening and refers to a traditional service of evening prayer.
