Upcoming DCHA events

Join staff and volunteers in readying the Delaware County Historical Association (DCHA) for the summer season. Chores will include sprucing up the grounds and cleaning the Frisbee House, the church and other buildings. 

Volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves and gardening tools.

• Saturday, May 4, volunteer work day, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

• Saturday, May 11, history conference - Making History in Delaware County, 1 - 3 p.m.

The historical society conference is specifically designed for the town and village historical societies and museums of Delaware County. Presenter will be the New York state historian on the 250th Revolutionary War Anniversary. The conference will end with a round-table discussion concerning local history and local historical societies. Registration required by May 9. Free admission.

• Saturday, May 18 ~ Guided Pepacton Cemetery Tour, 1 p.m.; rain date June 1

Located along the Tremperskill Road in the Town of Andes, the Pepacton Cemetery contains the remains of those who were reinterred due to the Pepacton and Cannonsville Reservoir construction projects. Led by grave historian Marianne Greenfield, there is no charge to attend this event. Wear sensible footwear and bring a water bottle.
