UNADILLA — The Unadilla Public Library will mark the start of March with a weeklong celebration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday, followed by a series of community gatherings throughout the month.
Through March 7, the library, at 193 Main Street, will host stories and crafts inspired by the children’s author. Programs will be held Monday through Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
On Saturday, March 14, at 11 a.m., the library will hold its Sit-n-Stitch gathering. Knitters and crocheters of all skill levels are invited to bring their projects. Beginners are welcome, with instruction available from Gloria C. Yarn and needles will be provided for those who need them.
Game Day is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, at 11 a.m., hosted by Dorene Ireland in partnership with the Family Resource Network. The event will feature games, snacks and a craft activity allowing participants to create their own game. The program is free, though registration is required. Details are available on the library’s Facebook page.
The month concludes with the library’s annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 28, at 11 a.m. at Community Field. Children ages 1 through 12 are invited to participate and are encouraged to bring a basket, though paper bags will be available. Each child will receive a free book, and eggs will contain age-specific prizes. Afterward, families may visit The House of Consignment at 214 Main Street for a free photo with the Easter Bunny, who will be present until 2 p.m.
The library’s board of trustees meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Monday of each month. Meetings are open to the public.
