SIDNEY — The Tri-County Seniors in Sidney are collecting donations for Care Kits to support children and families facing serious medical challenges, including cancer treatment and surgery.
The annual holiday project will benefit families in need through Uplift Collective, an all-volunteer nonprofit organization based in Sidney Center. Volunteers will assemble the kits, which will be distributed through Bassett Health Care Network’s school-based health offices.
Donation boxes will be available at the following locations throughout the Tri-Town area from Nov. 2 through Dec. 4:
• Trackside Dining, Machos Tacos, Club 55 and the Tri-County Senior Center in Sidney
• Village Variety in Unadilla
• SFCU in Bainbridge
Suggested donations include blankets, soft socks, stuffed animals, children’s books, crafts, games, snacks and personal care items. Gift cards for gas, groceries and restaurants are also welcome.
A complete list of suggested items is available on the Tri-County Senior Center’s Facebook page, by emailing tricountyseniorcenter@yahoo.com or at each donation site.
