Thomas Francis Kelley, March 6, 1946 to May 23 2023, died peacefully after a brief illness. He was surrounded by family and had many loving visitors during his hospital stays in Delhi and Cooperstown.
Tom, as he was known to many, was born in Providence, R.I. He loved to tell stories of his escapades. He was a CPA by trade and cared deeply for his clients.
Tom’s interests included his family and friends, the beach, scuba diving, reading, films, the islands of St. Vincent and Bequia, and Tom Petty. Most of all he had a passion for the game of poker. One year, Tom even won his way into the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas and lasted three days at the table.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to O’Connor Hospital in Delhi and Bassett Medical Center Cooperstown for the care Tom received during his illness.
Tom is survived by his wife Jayne Anne, his children Amanda (Mike), Justin (Sara) and Quinn (Riley), his grandchildren Meagan (Brandi), Dax (Marlena), Abby, Mya and Olivia. He is also survived by one great-grandchild Seb, and a large extended family.
In lieu of flowers, Tom wished for donations to be sent in his name to Heart of the Catskills Humane Society.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, June 22 at 6 p.m. at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi.
