Susquehanna String Band to Perform in Bainbridge May 16

The Susquehanna String Band, a trio of accomplished musicians and educators, will perform at the Bainbridge Town Hall Theatre, 15 North Main Street, Friday, May 16, at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The group — Rick Bunting, John Kirk, and Dan Duggan — blend American and British Isles traditional music with instrumental and vocal finesse. Their versatility has led to orchestral collaborations and four recordings, including their latest release, Auld Lang Syne.

Bunting, a former Bainbridge-Guilford teacher and Crane School of Music professor, is noted for his Scottish ballads and multi-instrumental skills. Kirk, a faculty member at Skidmore and Bennington colleges, is known for his lyric tenor, humor, and string work. Duggan, a National Hammered Dulcimer Champion, is featured on Paul Simon’s You’re the One and has toured nationally.

A Student Photography Show will be on view in the gallery from 6 p.m. through intermission. Admission is free.
