DELHI - Horse owners and equine enthusiasts are invited to a free educational workshop at SUNY Delhi on Monday, April 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Centennial Room of Sanford Hall, 2 Main Street. A meal will be served at 5:30 p.m., and attendees will receive parking instructions and a campus map upon registration.
The program, designed for caretakers of horses ranging from high-level performance animals to retired seniors, will feature two expert presentations. Ofelia Del Principe, an independent equine nutrition consultant with Whitfield Equine Nutrition, will discuss how feeding choices affect horses’ health, well-being, and longevity. She will cover the fundamentals of equine nutrition and strategies for making informed feeding decisions.
Cassy Streeter of Dairy One Equi-Analytical will explain the importance of hay testing, including sample submission methods, testing options, and how to interpret results to maximize nutritional benefits.
