The Sidney Memorial Public Library has some special event coming up. In addition to the great programs for children and teens and the Summer Reading Program, there are some special adult and family programs, too.
Saturday, July 26 at 1 p.m., Scott Payne will present a special historical program, The Oneida Indian Nation: America’s First Allies. Payne will tell the story of four Oneida individuals who were instrumental to the patriot cause in New York and Pennsylvania during the American Revolution. This program is free and will be held in the Smart Community Room.
The Sidney Memorial Public Library is proud to present a solo exhibition by Brynne Livelsberger on Saturday, Aug. 2 with an open reception from 1 - 3:30 p.m. A rising artist from Unadilla, Livelsberger creates expressive and evocative works through her exploration of physical materials. Currently pursuing her BFA in art and design at Alfred University, she is set to graduate in 2026. Her talent has been featured in prominent regional venues including the Fenimore Art Museum, Jericho Arts Council, Stone Quarry Art Park, and program. Her art will be on display in the Smart Community room at the library during August. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience her unique artistic vision in an intimate and local setting.
Two special family events that are part of our summer reading program, Color Our World: Walk Through Butterfly Exhibit Thursday, Aug. 7, 6-7:30 p.m. Registration is required so call 607-563-1200.
Then, guest and local author Suzanne Bloom will present a special and fun-filled storytime on Tuesday, July 2 at 10 a.m. Bloom has written and illustrated numerous children’s books. If you have any of her books bring them to the program and Suzanne will be happy to autograph them for you.
