MARGARETVILLE — The Open Eye Theater will continue one of its longest-running summer traditions later this month with the return of Summer Shortcuts XVI, a collection of six original 10-minute plays that offers audiences an evening of comedy, drama and suspense.
The production runs Aug. 20-30 at the theater, 960 Main St., and features a series of short plays designed to move quickly from one story to the next, introducing new characters and unexpected plot twists throughout the performance.
Now in its 16th season, Summer Shortcuts reflects the theater’s ongoing commitment to presenting new works and original playwrights while offering audiences a diverse range of stories in a single evening.
Performances are open to both longtime theatergoers and first-time patrons looking for an accessible introduction to live theater.
General admission tickets are $25. Friday performances are offered on a pay-what-you-will basis.
