A Revive and Rise Summit for Ladies will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6 at the Community Cultural Center, 1 Bridge Street. This empowering event is a celebration of women’s resilience, leadership and limitless potential. This event will start at 8 am for registration with coffee and Tina‘s Donuts. At 9 a.m. will be opening session following at 9:15 a.m. Marisa Orezzoli – Mindset Mojo: slaying the shade and shinning on, 9:50 a.m. Ashley Vanvalkenburgh – girl, give yourself some grace; 10:25 a.m. Cat Johnson – cultivation success in your business; 11:05 a.m. Jen Cutting – how to have a future outside your past; 11:40 a.m. Kirsty Roefs - you can do this; 12:15 p.m. closing remarks. Then at 12:30 p.m. will be the vendor fair and networking with ends at 2 p.m. The many thought-provoking speakers will guide you to network, learn, and grow. Explore women entrepreneurs who will be showcasing their local businesses. They will be providing you with products and services that cater to your mental and emotional well being.  

A fundraiser with basket raffles will be held to raise money for Rowan De Cocker who is battling a brain tumor at only four years old. 100% of proceeds will go to Rowan and his family. All of the vendors have generously donated items to make this happen.

Unadilla

The Unadilla Elementary School is participating in the Otsego County Schools Plastic Recycling Film Recycling Challenge Program and the Nextrex Recycling Challenge. With your help, the school will take on the challenge of collecting 1,000 pounds of think plastic film for recycling. The school will weigh and record the amount of plastic collected by grade level for prizes given by the PRO. Prizes will also be awarded to the school based on how much the school collect- they hope to win a TEX Bench for the playground. All plastic must be clean, dry ands free of residue.  Send to school with your children, grandchild or leave at School bus entrance drop off indicating child or class to receive credit. Items are grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, plastic shipping envelopes, zip lock and other re-closable food storage bags, cereal bags, case overwrap, salt bags, pallet wrap and stretch film, wood pellet bags and produce bags. Program ends April 1, 2024.

Are you getting rid of clothes (cleaning your closet after the holiday)? remember the Unadilla Methodist Church, Main Street has a clothing shed located in parking lot in  back of the church for donations. The shed is sponsored by the Troop 1 BSA, open 24/7 for donation drop off. St. Parry Textile Inc., the company that provides the shed, partnered with businesses and various organizations to distribute donated items both here in the U.S. and worldwide, where they’re ultimately re-worn by people who need them. Troop 1 receives funding for maintaining the drop off shed to support their programs and community service. Accepted items - clothing, shoes, belts, purses, blankets, sheets, curtains, pillowcases, and stuffed animals.
