SIDNEY — The Tri-County Chapter of NYS Women, Inc., formerly known as Business and Professional Women, will hold its annual AMBA Wellness Clinic on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 6:30 to 10 a.m. at the Elks Lodge, 104 River St., Sidney.
Proceeds from the event help fund annual scholarships for students at area schools.
The AMBA, or Annual Multiphase Blood Analysis, clinic offers a basic panel of more than 30 blood tests for $45. A separate $15 specimen collection fee and a $10 fee charged by the Tri-County chapter will apply.
The basic panel includes cholesterol, HDL, LDL and triglycerides. Additional testing is available for an additional fee, including thyroxin, prostate-specific antigen, vitamin D and hemoglobin A1C. A take-home colorectal screening test is also available.
Participants must obtain a prescription from their doctor before the clinic. Specialized tests require separate prescriptions. A photo ID is required at the time of testing.
AMBA accepts checks or money orders payable to AMBA for testing; cash is not accepted. The chapter’s $10 fee may be paid by cash or check payable to Tri-County Chapter of NYSW, Inc.
Coffee, tea, juice and snacks will be available after the blood draw.
Appointments can be made by calling 1-800-234-8888 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Callers will need to provide their doctor’s name and address.
The Tri-County chapter has sponsored the event for several years. In the past year, the organization awarded scholarships to Clark Vischi of Sherburne-Earlville High School and Melanie Morales of Norwich High School.
NYS Women, Inc. was formed through the merger of the Tri-Town and Norwich chapters. The organization is open to all members and advocates for education, workplace and pay equity, as well as legislation affecting women and families.
The chapter meets monthly. For membership information or reservations, call Kathy at 607-967-4115.
