SIDNEY - Longtime Sidney educators Spencer and Judy Gridley were inducted into the New York FFA Legacy Hall of Fame during the 101st New York FFA State Convention held May 15 in Buffalo.
The couple was recognized during the organization’s second annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony for decades of support and leadership in agricultural education and student development.
Spencer Gridley taught agriculture and served as adviser to the Sidney FFA chapter for more than 30 years, mentoring generations of students through classroom instruction and leadership activities.
Judy Gridley, an elementary school teacher in the Sidney Central School District, was recognized for shaping students early in their education and supporting agricultural education initiatives alongside her husband.
According to the New York FFA, the Gridleys helped broaden opportunities for hundreds of students while remaining longtime advocates for the organization and the Oswegatchie educational leadership camp.
Even after retirement, the couple continued to support the camp for more than 25 years, encouraging FFA members to participate in leadership and educational programs.
The Gridleys were inducted as a team, reflecting what organizers described as a shared legacy of service, mentorship and commitment to New York FFA programs.
