Rotary Club of Sidney is having a mum fundraiser. There will be a variety of colors in nine inch pots. The 13th annual Sidney Center Tractor Parade is this Saturday, Sept. 16 at noon. Registration starts at 9 a.m. A chicken barbecue by the Sidney Center Fire Department, basket raffles and 50/50 will be held. For more information call Lynn at 607-369-9074.

The Sidney Chamber of Commerce Cruise-in Saturday, Sept. 16 has been canceled due to lack of volunteers.

Sidney Memorial Library will host an acrylic painting workshop Saturday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join staff member and art teacher Joyce Neal for this popular workshop and learn to paint flowers. This class will fill up fast so don’t delay to preregister.

Rick Bunting will have his artist display through the month of September in the Smart Community Room at Sidney Memorial Library.

Children and youth programming are back at the Sidney Memorial Library. Pre-School Kids Storytime in children’s area Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Music for Munchkins, Tuesday, Sept. 19 10:45 a.m. featuring jungle beat in the community room. School age programs: Minecraft age 8 and up Mondays 3-4:30 p.m. in the PCC, Zoom Lego club Tuesdays via Zoom 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. In-person Lego Club Tuesdays 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. in the children’s area. Teens and Tweens for fifth to 12th graders, Fridays from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the PCC with games, crafts and pizza. Crafts and Creations Thursdays 3 to 4 p.m. for K through sixth graders in the PCC.

A small business resource fair will be held Thursday, Sept. 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Sidney Community Cultural Center, 1 Bridge Street. Network and learn about community and government resources available for helping small business, start ups and entrepreneurs. Talk directly with representatives from small businesses. A presentation to grow your business with a leveraging digital advertising to promote your business at 4:15 p.m. Free and open to all businesses and entrepreneurs.

Cars seat safety event at The Cullman Child Development Center, 90 West Road on Thursday, Sept. 21 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The free event will educate parents and caregivers on proper car seat installation and use presented by Delaware County Public Health.

The Tri-County Seniors invite area seniors to a performance of 1950s and 60s golden oldies sung by Mary Frances Perricone from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22 at the Tri-County Senior Center, 43 Pearl Street (located in the right rear of the AO Fox Campus building.) Take the driveway on the right side of building next to the fence and park behind the guardrail. Enter the building on the deck with the picnic table. Mary Frances brings fun and energy to her performances of songs by artists such as Connie Francis, Patsy Cline and many others. Wear your dancing shoes and prepare to take a nostalgic trip back in time. The event is free to all seniors and snacks will be available.

Harvest Dinner Saturday, Sept. 16 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 156 Main Street. Menu will include pork tenderloin with gravy, mashed potatoes, dressing, Johnson’s winter squash and homemade applesauce with homemade apple or pumpkin pie for dessert. Eat in church fellowship hall or takeout dinners available. The church is handicap accessible via the Church Street ramp. Proceeds will be used to support the support church operations with a portion also going to local missions.

Unatego Cue and Curtain announces its annual fall musical “Willy Wonka!” This musical based on the timeless story by Ronald Dahl will transport those attending into a magical world of chocolate making. Willy Wonka will be played by David Clapper. The show is a family friendly classic with lots of songs, dance and surprises. The show will be Nov. 3 and 4 at 7 p.m. and Sunday afternoon Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. Note, due to the building project at the Unatego High School, the show will be performed at the Sidney High School auditorium.

Fall Fest 2023 at Covered Bridge Farm Market, 331 Covered Bridge Road, Sunday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Over 50 vendors featuring crafts, food trucks,  homemade pies by Butternut Valley Grange, children’s activities, pumpkin painting, corn maze, giant corn box.  Music by Barnyard Saints at 10 a.m. and Sundown Express at 1 p.m.
