Rotary Club of Sidney is having a mum fundraiser. Variety of colors in 9-inch pot. Purchase certificate from any Rotarian member or stop at Main Street Paint and Hardware or Howard Hanna Real Estate to purchase certificate. Shop from Sept. 1 through Oct. 2 at S and S Landscaping Depot, County Highway 23, Sidney, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Food bank is open Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the Sidney United Methodist Church, 12 Liberty Street.

Free Share the Bounty Meal Thursday, Aug. 31 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Parish Center, 15 Liberty Street. Meal will be hosted by Sidney United Methodist Church serving hamburgers and hot dogs, salads, corn on the cob, dessert and beverages.

Sauce and Cross dinner with informal worship will be held Thursday, Sept. 7 at the Sidney United Methodist Church beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Catholic Charities of Delaware, Otsego and Schoharie Counties, on the First floor of the Civic Center, 21 Liberty Street, is having a food drive. They are collecting non-perishable food items leading up to National Food Bank Day, Sept. 1. Non-perishable food may be left along with monetary donations during office hours Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Closed for lunch 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. New hours will take effect Sept. 11.

Sidney Memorial Library will host an acrylic painting workshop Saturday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join staff member and art teacher Joyce Neal for this popular workshop and paint some flowers. This class will fill up fast so don’t delay to pre-register.

Rick Bunting will have his artist display through the month of September in the Smart Community Room at Sidney Library. A reception will be held Saturday, Sept. 9  at 2 p.m. to meet local naturalist and photographer and discover what inspires and aids him in capturing his stunning nature photographs.

Cars seat safety event at The Cullman Child Development Center, 90 West Road, Thursday, Sept. 21 from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. The free event will educate parents and caregivers on proper car seat installation and use presented by the Delaware County Public Health.

Area seniors are invited to join the Tri-County Seniors Tuesday, Nov. 7 for a bus trip to Binghamton for dinner and the musical play “Pretty Woman” at the Forum Theatre. To register and for more information call Carol at 607-563-8065

Unadilla

Unatego Cue and Curtain announces their annual fall musical “Willy Wonka!” This musical based on the timeless story by Ronald Dahl will transport you into a magical world of chocolate making. In search of an heir to his chocolate factory Willy Wonka, played by David Clapper, states a contest. The show is a family friendly classic with lots of songs, dance and surprises. The show can be seen Nov. 3 and 4 at 7 p.m. and Sunday afternoon, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. Note - due to the building project at the Unatego High School, the show will be performed at the Sidney High School auditorium.

A Rise Up Celebration will be held Saturday, Sept. 9 from noon to 6 p.m. on the front lawn of the library, 193 Main Street. This is a free community event with music, singing, food drinks and kids’ activities. Bring a blanket or law chairs.
