The opening concert of the Shandelee Music Festival’s 30th anniversary season will reunite two audience favorites – violinist Misha Keylin and pianist Ilya Kazantsev in “An Evening of Chamber Music” on Saturday, August 5 at 8 p.m.
Violinist Misha Keylin debuted at Carnegie Hall when he was 11 years old. Since then, his wide-ranging repertoire has brought him notoriety, press accolades and awards.
Keylin has been a guest soloist with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Leipzig Chamber Orchestra, Israel Sinfonietta, Brandenburg Philharmonic and others. He’s performed at venues in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and other major cities in the U.S. and around the world.
Pianist Ilya Kazantsev has been hailed as “virtually flawless” by the Washington Post. He’s performed in Russia, Germany, Japan, Italy, France, Canada, the U.S. and many other countries, and he’s won numerous awards including first prize at the Nikolai Rubinstein International Competition in Paris, the International Chopin Competition in Moscow and the World Piano Competition in Cincinnati.
“An Evening of Chamber Music” with Misha Keylin and Ilya Kazantsev will feature music by Mozart, Bartok, Saint-Saens, Franck and others.
Tickets for the Aug. 5 concert are $35 for adults, $30 for members, and $10 for students 17 and under. All performances in the Sunset Concert Series begin at 8 p.m., and will be performed in the fully accessible, climate-controlled Sunset Concert Pavilion, located at 442 J.
