Scott Jackson, 72, of Walton, passed away at home after a short illness.
Scott was born July 5, 1952, to Chester and Eleanor Jackson, and was raised as their own by Effie and Peter Gensinger.
Scott was a beloved husband of 35 years to Denise, a loving father to Keith (Mary), Pete (Kelly), Melissa (Kevin), Dawn and Melissa; Lauren (Joe) and TJ (Danielle); Grandpa or Pop Pop to Kayla, PJ, Nick, Victoria, Steven, Justin, Michael, Christopher, Nathan, Skylar, Trinity, Brina and Trey; and special Poppy Scott to his “adopted” Doig family. Scott also leaves behind his brother Larry (Robin), sister Charlene, brother-in-law Bruce (Chris); sister-in law Roseann, many nieces, nephews and good friends, who will miss him dearly.
Scott dedicated 10 years to coaching Walton Little League, and was awarded the “Outstanding Youth Worker Award” by the Delaware County Youth Bureau in 2013.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, love of sports, cars, woodworking, the outdoors, playing numbers and scratch-offs.
Calling hours will be held 2-4 p.m. Friday, March 28, at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton.
In lieu of flowers, make donations in his memory to Walton Little League.
