Roy Thomas Terney, 84, passed away Feb. 1, 2025, in Walton at Delaware Valley Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Roy was born on June 9, 1940, in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, to John Terney and Nellie (Immauel) Terney.

Roy graduated from New Greenville High school in Greenville, Pennsylvania, in 1959.

Roy married the love of his life, Patricia Ann (Hessinger) Terney on Jan. 6, 1962. They had been married for 63 years.

Roy was best known for his love of baseball. He spent his life dedicated to his craft as a machine operator in the dairy production industry, contributing his expertise and hard work to Breakstone Dairy. His commitment to his profession was matched only by his love for the simpler pleasures in life, including the love he found on the baseball field. He was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns and an ardent supporter of Ohio State. Roy cherished the joy of playing for local teams at Austin Lincoln Park. His passion for the game was infectious and brought together many friends and neighbors who shared in his love for baseball.

Roy is survived by his loving family, his wife Patricia Terney, his daughters Kim (Craig) Shelton of Walton and Veronika Cosenza (Brian) of Kentucky; several grandchildren - Morgan Krom, of Walton, Ashlei (Hooter Brown) of Walton, Troy Terney (Helen Banome) of Navarre, Florida, Emily Canady (River Stapleton), Kentucky, Dalton Baadshaug of Kentucky, and Nicole Odell of Downsville; great-grandchildren Adan (Hailey), Jordan, Colt, Tyler, Blair, Wyatt, Paizlyn, Matthew and Marilana; sister-in-law Sandra Campbell, Walton, and brother-in-law Gary Hessinger, Walton and June Hessinger Lakeland, and many nieces and nephews.

Roy was predeceased by his parents John Terney and Nellie Immauel, and his brothers-in-law Ronald E. Hessinger and Dennis Campbell and mother-in-law and father-in-law Ronald T. and Ethel Hessinger.

There will be no services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
