ROXBURY — The Roxbury Library will offer a mix of wellness programs, author events and children’s activities over the coming weeks, with offerings ranging from weekly chair yoga sessions to renewable energy workshops and craft programs.
Chair Yoga, led by Twisted Sister Yoga, returns Thursday, July 23, from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. at the library. The class will continue every Thursday at the same time. A suggested donation of $10 per session supports the instructor.
On Saturday, July 25, local author Ellen Greene Stewart will visit the library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to sign copies of her new children’s book, Meet Dot and Dash. The story follows two whimsical characters who come to life in the imagination of author Lavery Rank before setting out to forge their own path beyond the limits of their creator’s control. The book signing is free and open to the public.
The library’s summer programming continues Saturday, Aug. 1, with a renewable energy workshop for children ages 10 to 14. Jeanne Darling of the New York State Power Authority will lead the program from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., introducing participants to renewable energy concepts before guiding them in building their own windmills.
On Saturday, Aug. 8, children are invited to create their own “Scrappy Monster” during a free craft workshop led by Sharon Buckler. The session will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon, with all materials provided.
