Letter to the Editor: Raises for Delaware County Department Heads

Posted

Regarding the article in the recent weekly Reporter involving raises again being considered for Delaware County management personnel, it would be wise for county representatives to remember Wayne Marshfield’s comment when it came to approving state mandated salary increases for certain legal staff earlier this year:

“Enough is enough!”

When is enough, enough? In a county with only approximately 48,000 people, many of which cannot even fathom the kind of salary numbers for county department heads now being put forth by a county board -  many of whom having no clue in how to even run a dog kennel, much less a county - is a royal kick in the derrière for taxpayers.

Mr. Marshfield, a fine gentleman and long time DCEC administrator and town representative and one who speaks the truth, particularly in leading prayer, and other town representatives should remember those words - “Enough is enough!”
