UNADILLA — The Unadilla Public Library will offer a lineup of fall activities in October, including a pumpkin carving and decorating contest, a crafting session, pumpkin painting and a Halloween-themed movie.

The library is inviting all ages to participate in its pumpkin carving and decorating contest. Participants must sign up by Oct. 9 to reserve a pumpkin. The library will call participants when their pumpkins are ready for pickup, no later than Oct. 12.

Participants can carve or decorate their pumpkins at home and must return them to the library by Oct. 19. The pumpkins will be displayed Oct. 19-24, when community members can visit the library and vote.

Contest categories are adults, children and creative. Winners will be announced Oct. 27, with prizes awarded.

On Saturday, Oct. 10, the library will host Sit-N-Stitch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 193 Main St. Participants can bring knitting or crochet projects to work on. Beginners are welcome, with Emma T. available to help with crocheting and Gloria C. available to assist with knitting. Yarn and needles will be available for those learning.

Children can paint pumpkins at the library Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Pumpkins will be provided.
