Michael J. Stoutenberg passed away Jan. 16, 2026 at Upstate University Hospital. He was born June 20, 1948, in Walton, the son of Floyd and Edythe Stoutenberg.

He married Donna Denison on April 1, 1989.

Michael graduated from Walton High School in 1966 and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1969-1973.

Michael worked as a supervisor at Amphenol Corp. for 31 years before retiring in September of 2008.

Michael was a member of the American Legion, serving as a commander for two years.

He was an avid Yankee and Giants fan and loved to play golf.

Michael’s greatest joy in life was living through his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna; two daughters, Tori Anderson (John) of Vestal and Wendy Conway (Randy) of Mt. Upton; and a son Anthony McNeilly (Monica) of Canastota; grandchildren Nicole Conway, Danielle Conway, Randi Schowe, Emily Taylor, Bobby Anderson, Brandi Voorhis and Sean McNeilly. Nine great-grandchildren; his brother Kurt Stoutenberg of Scriba; his sister Jessica (Bryon) Getman of Chittenango; his Aunt Ruth Stoutenberg of Chittenango; his stepbrother Alan (Mary) MacGibbon of Florida; his mother-in-law Evelyn Denison of Mt. Upton; sisters-in-law Nancy (Neil) Rivaldo of Rochester, Linda (Jim) Pinney of Sidney and brother-in-law Jerry Ferrara of Sidney. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Michael was predeceased by his mother Edythe, his father Floyd, stepmother Barb, sisters-in law Cathy Stoutenberg and Joyce Ferrara; stepsister Deb MacGibbon and father-in-law Frank Denison.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, Jan. 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at C.H Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street, Sidney.

A Mass will be held Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 15 Liberty Street, Sidney.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Walton American Legion, Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Sidney or charity of one’s choice.
