Cindy Crawford, supermodel, who once wanted to remove her distinctive beauty mark: “Sometimes the thing that makes you feel the most self-conscious turns out to be your greatest asset.”

March is Music in the Schools Month and Women’s History Month.

A reminder, daylight savings time begins Sunday, March 10. Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour on Saturday evening before you go to bed. Monday, March 11, JV and Varsity spring sports begin. Good luck for a great year, students. There will be a Sidney Central School Board of Education meeting Tuesday, March 12 at 6:30 in the high school library. Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16, the ACAMT Festival will be in Sidney and there will be no school for a staff development day.

Here n the Farm the fellas are just working on chores and other things for the week. The weather is warm and they have been moving some large, wrapped bales home. The Dairy One milk tester was here and the guys will get papers in the mail showing the milk production of each cow tested, the cows that are to be bred, and those that will be having calves, those to be checked for pregnancies, and somatic cell counts. The vet will use these papers when she comes to check the cows for any health issues they may have and to check for more pregnant cows and if they have difficulty getting some cows bred. They can also check on their phones for information. It has been a pretty quiet week but going forward you never know what will happen. We received information in the mail about the new Spring over Spring milk production will be working and we hope that it works out better for everyone rather than the base for production. Be sure to keep an eye on your somatic cell counts as they are important for quality milk and premiums in your milk checks. Keep purchasing dairy products for baking, cooking and drinking - it could make a difference in our farmers milk prices. Have a great and healthy week everyone.

Birthday greetings this week to Amy Jump and Cheryl Sherman March 10, Karen Pritchard and Vi Peck March 11, Scott Gregory and Pat Lent March 13, and Tanya Jo Scott and Ruth Huntington March 16.
