MARGARETVILLE — The Margaretville Maniacs girls varsity indoor soccer team turned a busy March schedule into a pair of strong tournament finishes, placing third in one event and reaching the championship match in another.
At the Milford Class of 2026 Futsal Tournament on March 7, the Maniacs advanced to the playoffs with a 2-1-1 record. They were narrowly defeated, 3-2, in postseason play, finishing third overall.
Two weeks later, on March 21, the team competed in the Worcester Yearbook Annual Futsal Tournament, again advancing out of round-robin play with a 2-0-1 record. The Maniacs opened the playoffs with a 3-0 victory to reach the championship game.
In the final, they fell 1-0 in a closely contested match against Franklin, a team they had tied earlier in tournament play.
Coaches Jerrod Hubbell and Don Bramley led a roster that included Daniella Herrera, Ali Jamrozy, Taylor Hubbell, Mia Marks, Xandria Gavette and Mackenzie Hubbell. Calla Norwick was not pictured with the team. Across both tournaments, the Maniacs relied on balanced play and broad contributions from the roster, with each player factoring into the team’s results.
The team was sponsored by Titan Well Drilling.
