Margaretville hosts second Saturday June 11

The Business Association of Margaretville will hold its initial Second Saturday of the year on June 11 from 3-6 p.m.

Many retail businesses will stay open later than usual and offer specials on food, drinks and shopping.  “Art, design, sun and fun” will be plentiful, according to event organizers

Kria World will host a raffle for a self-care gift package to raise funds for Planned Parenthood and will have complimentary wine from the Margaretville Liquor Store; Home Goods of Margaretville will host free tastings of artisanal olive oil and vinegar with local breads; Bloom Fabric & Art will offer an English paper piecing demo; The Happy Giraffe will feature 25% off garden spinners during Second Saturday, and Longyear Gallery will hold an artists’ reception from 3-6 p.m. Freshtown Marketplace will offer watermelons at half price during the event, Le Petite Marché will hold sales ranging from 10-30% off select items; from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. there will be aa plant sale at the Fairview Public Library and Binnekill Tavern will host a happy hour from 3-6 p.m. with $5 draft beers, house wine, and well drinks. 

The village of Margaretville is among the most vibrant in the Catskills with shops offering an assortment of interesting items including souvenirs, antiques, jewelry, plants, home goods, clothing and dining options. The community has undergone a renaissance in recent years and has become a popular destination for folks looking to relocate upstate and for others simply seeking an enjoyable day out on the town.

Margaretville Second Saturdays are also planned for July 9, August 13 and Sept. 10.
