Linda Lightner (Reichert), 77, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away March 25, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born on April 14, 1948, in Queens, New York, Linda’s life was a testament to love, laughter, and devotion to those she cared for most.
Linda’s love for her family and friends was evident to all who knew her. She was known for her caring heart, her warmth, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her commitment to her church was important to her, and she made a lasting impact on her community.
She is survived by her daughters April Perry, Amanda Shields (Jonathan Shields), and Sharon Reichert-Morgan (Josh Morgan), and their father, William Reichert. She will be deeply missed by her seven grandchildren: Kevin Doig (Veronica Doig), David Jay Doig (Taylor Wilms), George Perry Jr., Alec Perry, Gavin Reichert, Payton Reichert, and Lucas Morgan, as well as her three great-grandchildren - Claire, Gianna, and Dawson Doig, all of whom she loved dearly.
Linda is survived by her husband, Terry Lightner, who shared the last four years of her life with her and brought her much love, laughter, and companionship. She is also survived by her sisters Kathy Johnson, Lori Jump, and Helen Fields, along with several nieces and nephews.
Linda’s memory will live on through her family and loved ones whose lives were enriched by her unwavering love and support.
A memorial service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held Friday, July 17, at 6 p.m. at Colchester Community Church in Downsville. Following the ceremony, a Celebration of Life reception will be held at the Downsville Fire Hall, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Linda’s life.
